End of October Adventure

So much to update... I haven’t had access to much internet the last few weeks, and that will be saved for another blog entry  The last week of October, I went out with some Irish girls that are from the Amazon Cork location. We went out to dinner on the waterfront at a Mediterranean restaurant that handed out pink blankets if you were cold. The meal was quite enjoyable until we had to pay the bill. I will start by saying that it completely was our fault and we may have had a little too much wine but what happened still was shocking. We paid the bill and in our minds had included tip. The waitress comes out to collect the bill and counts the money in front of us…IN FRONT of us and then says, “You didn’t pay the whole bill.” We told her yes we did and this is how much we paid, and she says, “how about the tip.” We all looked at each other dumbfounded, and said we would look at it again. We tipped her like 5% by mistake instead of the normal 10%, but she asked for tip and counted the money! We paid the 10% and left, but it did leave a bad taste in our mouth for the rather good time we had. Sunday the HR team had planned a team bonding event by doing a 10K Cancer walk. Normally it probably would have been a pleasant walk on the beach, but it rained the whole time! We came back so soaked from head to toe and freezing our butts off! Note for the future….team bonding in May’s eyes includes a manicure and massage…doesn’t that sound so much better?
